Microsystems for Massively Multiplexed Molecular Biology
Material Measurement Laboratory, Biosystems and Biomaterials Division
NIST only participates in the February and August reviews.
We are currently developing microsystems for multiplexed biomolecular analysis (e.g., gene expression, microRNAs, proteins, cytokines) at the single cell level. Research goals include developing tools to enable early and accurate diagnoses of disease as well as studies to elucidate mechanisms and networks in complex biological systems. Project areas include biochemical/molecular biology process development, microfabricated device design and development, measurement of samples with ultrahigh throughput sequencing and microarrays, and bioinformatic/biostatistical data analysis of the large data sets from these studies. The Associate should have experience in engineering and the sciences; particularly bioinformatics, molecular biology, and/or microfluidics.
