Description
Research focuses on the properties of various superconducting and magnetic oxide materials in bulk ceramic, single crystal, and thin-film form. Other areas of interest include the properties of superconductor/normal metal and superconductor/ferromagnetic interfaces. Samples are characterized by various techniques including resistivity, noise power spectroscopy, magnetization, ac susceptibility, magnetoresistance, and tunneling spectroscopy. Other available capabilities include transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, low- and high-resolution x-ray diffraction, measurements in high magnetic fields (approximately 40 T, at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory), and clean room/microlithography.
