Description

The goal of the project is to design and analyze a system for detecting pulses of N photons with a photon-number-resolution with a standard error of 1 or less.   Variants include expanding the range of applicable wavelengths, adjusting the operating temperature upwards from cryogenics to near-room temperature operation, and increasing N from single digits to 100 or more.  The envisioned system will be compatible with CMOS processing.
