We are looking for a qualified Associate to support research of optical materials ongoing within the Photonic Materials Branch at the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) in the Materials and Manufacturing Directorate.  Qualified candidates should have demonstrated technical skills in the area of computation specifically relating to optical theory and design.  Of particular interest are candidates with prior experience and exposure to machine learning.  Associates will join a vibrant and active research enterprise heavily focused on optical material development and maturation affording extensive opportunities for collaborative research and theory-led experimentation.  Working at AFRL is a unique opportunity to solve important, long term challenges that guide research efforts in an environment that strongly encourages collaboration (government/academic/industry), publication in top journals, and conference attendance.

Qualified candidates are encouraged to contact Dr. Tim White with a CV and a brief description of a proposed topic.
