Ultrafast Extreme Ultraviolet Mass Spectroscopy at High Field

The availability of table-top extreme ultraviolet (EUV) coherent radiation sources through high harmonic generation has opened the door to explorations of potential new metrology applications once only available at a synchrotron beam line. NIST-Boulder is building a new metrology instrument for spatially-resolved single-atom time-of-flight mass spectroscopy of a biased sample (10 V/nm) using EUV (12 nm to 124 nm) photons. We welcome proposals aimed at high-field nanoscience, studying this complex laser-matter interaction, and photoionization on a variety of technologically important materials systems, particularly metals, III-V semiconductors, and photovoltaics.
