Description

We are interested in developing advanced correlative microscopy techniques for characterizing nanoparticles in cells and tissue. Combining multiple microscopy and chemical characterization techniques, this work attempts to detect, localize, and quantify nanoparticles in three-dimensional cellular environments. Successful applicants will have access to a multiphoton microscope with spectral capability, a focused ion beam scanning electron microscope (FIB SEM) with x-ray spectroscopy and cryo capability, an environmental SEM, and a transmission electron microscope. This project will involve development of novel imaging and analysis methods, as well as collaborative efforts with other NIST laboratories for image processing and 3D visualization methods.
