Description

Organ on a chip aims to be a more efficient way to gather pharmacokinetic data. To more accurately monitor the performance and health of some organs, such as blood vessels and bone, we also need to develop a platform for in situ mechanical measurements, which may be achieved by measuring deformation under controlled stress and flow. 3D printing is used to construct custom geometries. Arthritic disease states are induced with lipopolysaccharide and glucose. Osteoporotic states are induced by knock out. Mechanisms of disease and repair will be assessed by biomarkers, in situ electrochemical sensors and tissue morphology.
