As part of the NIST Center for Nanoscale Science and Technology, we pursue theoretical understanding and calculations in the rapidly growing field of nanoscale physics. Areas of interest focus on experimental efforts in CNST including electronic structure calculations, transport, properties of surfaces and interfaces, magnetic systems, scanning tunneling microscopy, and nanostructures. Approaches vary from quasi-analytic to computationally intensive, as appropriate.
