Description

The Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center (TFHRC) is seeking a postdoctoral associate to further develop materials, tests, and processes to improve resilience of asphalt pavements.

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) is placing an increasing emphasis on resilience.  In the asphalt pavements space, this translates to better identification of materials which will withstand changing climatic demands.  The following types of materials and research are of particular interest in this opportunity, although this does not preclude other innovative technologies:

The Associate will work alongside members of FHWA’s Asphalt Binder and Mixture Laboratory and have extensive collaborative opportunities inside and outside of FHWA.  The following skills are preferred of the postdoctoral associate:

Citizenship:  Open to U.S. citizens, permanent residents and non-U.S. citizens
Level:  Open to Postdoctoral and Senior applicants

Stipend

Base Stipend Travel Allotment Supplementation
$67,000.00 $4,000.00

Experience Supplement:
Postdoctoral and Senior Associates will receive an appropriately higher stipend based on the number of years of experience past their PhD.
