AFRL/RI has a strong interest in Quantum Information Science (QIS) and Quantum Computing (QC). Quantum Information Science research involves interdisciplinary theoretical and experimental work from diverse fields such as physics, electrical and computer science, engineering, and from pure and applied mathematics. We are interested in postdoctoral researchers interested in both theory and experiments in Quantum Information Science, Quantum Computing, Quantum Algorithms development, High Dimensional Entanglement, Relativistic Quantum Information and Quantum Photonic Integrated Circuits for both Quantum Information Processing with strong emphasis on interfacing of photon-based qubits to matter qubits, in particular photon-trapped ion and photon-superconducting qubit interfaces. We also have strong in Quantum Algorithm development for both analogue and digital quantum computing architectures with potential applications to optimization, sampling, machine learning and modeling of in-house quantum photonic processing chip-scale circuits. We are also interested in the effects of decoherence on the propagation and distribution of entanglement for quantum information and communications/networks applications. We also have interest in relativistic quantum information which is concerned with the exploration of entanglement for observers in arbitrary motion, measures of quantum entanglement including geometrical and topological methods, and the distinction between quantum and classical information and its subsequent exploitation.
