Description

We are seeking a candidate to work within the Chemical and Biological Center's 20,000 square foot pilot-scale fermentation facility. DOD is realizing a surge in programs that are metabolically engineering yeast and bacteria to produce chemicals with unique properties. These are being developed into materials to support a wide variety of projects. Each requires scale up to 1500 liters, downstream processing, and characterization at labs located across the Edgewood campus. The successful candidate will interact with a multi-disciplinary team of material scientists, chemists, and biologists. The endeavour has regular interaction with academia and industry as part of a manufacturing consortium that spans the continetal United States. Good communication and problem solving skills are needed. Specific training will be provided with an opportunity for growth and international travel. Please contact for questions and background.
