Description

In our laboratory we have many opportunities in the areas of novel materials development and engineering, namely in the areas of metal-organic framework (MOFs) and metal-oxide development, and modification for the sorption and/or reactive removal of chemical hazards, such as toxic industrial chemicals (TICs), chemical warfare agents (CWAs), and CWA simulants. Our interests are in the fundamental properties of these materials, such as their stability and the ability to engineer these materials into more usable forms, such as the development of particles or polymer matrices. Other projects in the areas of porous materials may include the sorption of permanent gases (such as CO2 and O2), the sensing of chemical threats, novel synthesis methods, and techniques for the enhancement of chemical stability.
